John Wilkinson, guitarist for Elvis, dies aged 67

American guitarist John Wilkinson, who was best known for playing with Elvis Presley’s TCB Band, has died aged 67.

Wilkinson was born in Washington D.C. on July 3, 1945 and grew up in Springfield, Missouri. After playing with a high school folk group called The Coachmen, Wilkinson headed to California and became a successful session musician. He also released several singles of his own in the late 1960s, including “July, You’re a Woman,” “(You’ve Got) Nothing to Be Ashamed Of,” and “The Last Resort”.
