U2 head list of Top 25 tours of 2011

The list of top 25 most lucrative music tours of 2011 features a diverse group of artists, old and new, with multiple genres represented, including hard rock, country, rap and pop. Top of the pile is U2 with their 360° tour, which was the highest-grossing tour of all time.

In 2011 alone, 2.8 million people saw the tour on its American and African legs, with ticket sales totalling $293 million.

Stadium rockers Bon Jovi took the second spot with their 68-date Bon Jovi Live tour which played to 1.8 million people and earned $192 million.

The top five is rounded out by the reunited Take That, whose 29-date UK stadium tour earned an impressive $185 million; Roger Waters’ 92-date tour of The Wall, which earned $150 million; and Taylor Swift’s 89-date Speak Now tour of Europe, Asia and North America which earned $97 million.

  11. Michael Bublé – Crazy Love ($50 million)
  12. Eagles – Long Road Out of Eden ($50 million)
  13. Katy Perry – California Dreams ($49 million)
  14. Lil Wayne ($46 million)
  15. Justin Bieber – My World ($44 million)
  16. Glee Live! In Concert! ($40 million)
  17. New Kids on the Block/Backstreet Boys ($40 million)
  18. Journey ($40 million)
  19. Britney Spears – Femme Fatale ($37 million)
  20. Iron Maiden – Final Frontier ($33 million)
  21. Kylie Minogue – Aphrodite World ($32.5 million)
