Rush – Classic Albums: 2112/Moving Pictures

Rush are the latest band to be featured in the Classic Albums series. The band’s most successful albums, “2112” (released in 1976) and “Moving Pictures” (released in 1981), will be showcased by a two-hour documentary available on DVD, Blu-ray or a Blu-ray/CD combo pack that will also include the original albums.

“Classic Albums: 2112/Moving Pictures” will feature interviews, archive videos and demonstrations using the original multi-track tapes. There are contributions from Geddy Lee (bass/vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar), Neil Peart (drums) and original producer Terry Brown. Also featured are commentaries from admirers of Rush, including Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins and Rolling Stone writer David Fricke.
“2112” was Rush’s breakthrough album, reaching number one in Canada and the top 75 in the USA and going on to achieve triple platinum sales. “Moving Pictures” was the band’s most successful album, once again hitting number one in Canada, but also making number three in both the UK and USA. “Moving Pictures” has gone quadruple platinum.
This is turning out to be a good year for fans of Rush, as the Classic Albums release follows the acclaimed documentary “Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage” which came out on both DVD and Blu-ray in June.
