Rolling Stones to appear at London Olympics?

Written by admin on May 3, 2011 – 6:01 pm -

The Rolling Stones and Coldplay are among a number of top acts rumoured to be performing at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Oscar-winning, “Slumdog Millionaire” film director, Danny Boyle, is directing the opening ceremony, which seems to be shaping up to be a showcase for rock royalty. The Stones’ frontman, Sir Mick Jagger, has already been linked to the event with the rumour that he will perform as part of a British supergroup with Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and John Lydon.

There are also suggestions that girl groups, The Spice Girls and Girls Aloud, will reform for the opening ceremony.

It’s unclear how advanced the opening ceremony plans are or which of the above artists have been approached, but perhaps this is just the thing to get the Rolling Stones back on stage.
