McCartney headlining Isle of Wight Festival on Sunday

The much anticipated Isle of Wight Festival takes place this weekend, with Jay-Z, The Strokes and Paul McCartney headlining. Around 55,000 festival goers will descend on Seaclose Park to enjoy three days of music.

McCartney will also headline at Glastonbury later this month.

McCartney headlining Isle of Wight Festival

Here’s the main stage line-up for the three days:

  • Friday 11 June – Jay-Z (headliner), Florence and the Machine, Calvin Harris, Doves, Mr Hudson, Hockey, Waterburner
  • Saturday 12 June – The Strokes (headliner), Blondie, Biffy Clyro, Vampire Weekend, Crowded House, Paloma Faith, The Hold Steady, Melanie, Detroit Social Club, The Bluebyrds
  • Sunday 13 June – Paul McCartney (headliner), Pink, Editors, Spandau Ballet, Friendly Fires, The Courteeners, Suzanne Vega, The Coronas, Paper Romance.

Among the performers on the Big Top stage over the three days are Suzi Quatro, Shakespears’ Sister, Orbital, La Roux, James, Ocean Colour Scene, and Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel.

World Cup matches will be screened throughout the weekend, including England’s opener against the USA on Saturday.
