Written by admin on January 9, 2012 – 7:35 pm -The forthcoming “L.A. Woman – 40th Anniversary” edition includes the unreleased Doors track “She Smells So Nice.” The track was discovered by producer Bruce Botnick while reviewing the session tapes for the reissue. You can preview the track below:
The Doors – “She Smells So Nice”
L.A. Woman was the Doors’ sixth and final album with Jim Morrison. It was released in April 1971, just three months before Morrison’s untimely death.

The 40th anniversary edition includes the original album and a second disc which features the unreleased track, “She Smells So Sweet,” and eight previously unreleased alternate takes.
The alternate takes are complete with interesting studio chat, including the moment where Jim Morrison suggests that the thunderstorm sound effects are added to the beginning of “Riders On The Storm. |

Also out later this month on DVD and Blu-ray is a documentary on the making of L.A. Woman titled “Mr. Mojo Risin’ – The Story of L.A. Woman.” The film includes interviews with Doors members Ray Manzarek, Robbie Krieger and John Densmore, as well as the band’s former manager Bill Siddons and Bruce Botnick who engineered L.A. Woman.
