John Lennon has been voted Legend of the Year for 2010 in the Virgin Media Music Awards. The year saw the re-release of Lennon’s solo catalogue and many events to commemorate both the 30th anniversary of his death in December and what would have been his 70th birthday in October.

Lady Gaga was second choice in the Legend of the Year category, followed by Cheryl Cole (yes, really), Paul McCartney and Cliff Richard.
