Legacy Recordings releases the 7-CD “Etta James – The Complete Private Music Blues, Rock ‘N’ Soul Albums Collection” on August 28.

The box set features six original albums released on the Private Music label between 1997 and 2004, including the Grammy Award®-winning “Let’s Roll” (Best Contemporary Blues Album of 2003) and “Blues To The Bone” (Best Traditional Blues Album of 2004). Also included is a live session recorded in San Francisco in 1981, and issued on Private Music in 1994.

Etta James was in her late fifties when she began recording for Private Music, and this proved to be one of the most prolific and rewarding associations of her lifetime in music.

• Blues To The Bone, Grammy Award®-winner (RCA Victor, 2004)
• Bonus Disc: Live From San Francisco (On The Spot/Private Music, recorded 1981, released 1994).

The liner notes for “Etta James – The Complete Private Music Blues, Rock ‘N’ Soul Albums Collection” are written by two-time Grammy Award®-winning producer and disc jockey Bob Porter.

This release is one of three new titles in the Complete Album Collections series. Also out on August 28 are “The Brecker Brothers – The Complete Arista Albums Collection (8 CDs), and “Sarah Vaughan – The Complete Columbia Albums Collection (4 CDs).

The packaging on all three titles has been supervised by Grammy Award®-winning former Legacy Vice President of Jazz Marketing Seth Rothstein, and art directed by award-winning designer Edward O’Dowd.

On the same date, Etta James fans can pick up “Etta James: Live at Montreux 1978-1993” on DVD and Blu-ray. This focuses on the concert she gave at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1993, and selected tracks from other Montreux appearances. A CD version comes out on July 24.
