Cher makes chart history

Cher number one Cher has become the only artist in pop history to have a number one on a Billboard chart in each of the last six decades.

The record was set when Cher hit number one on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart this week with the song “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me.” The Golden Globe winning song is from the soundtrack of the movie “Burlesque.”

Cher has had seven previous number ones on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart and five on the Billboard Hot 100, starting with her duet with Sonny Bono on “I Got You Babe” in 1965. Her other Hot 100 number ones were “Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves” (1971), Half-Breed” (1973), “Dark Lady” (1974) and “Believe” (1998).

The Burlesque Official Soundtrack album was released last November and hit number 18 on the Billboard album chart. It features one other track from Cher, “Welcome To Burlesque”, and eight from Christine Aguilera. The movie will be out on DVD and Blu-ray on March 1 in the US and April 11 in the UK.
