The 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ debut appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show will be celebrated in February with a two-hour US television special titled “The Night That Changed America – A GRAMMY® Salute To The Beatles”.

The special will feature some of the biggest musical acts of today performing classic Beatles songs, including the songs performed on the band’s Ed Sullivan debut.

The Beatles’ first appearance on “The Ed Sullivan Show” is one of the most watched television events of all time, with 74 million people tuning in to watch the group perform the songs “All My Loving,” “Till There Was You,” She Loves You,” I Saw Her Standing There,” and “I Want to Hold Your Hand”.

The television special is produced by AEG Ehrlich Ventures, LLC. Executive producer, Ken Ehrlich, says:

“Whether you were alive to witness it on television that night, or you’ve just known about it all your life, that first television appearance by the Beatles on ‘The Ed Sullivan Show’ is historic. To be able to celebrate this significant event 50 years later — and to the exact day, date, and time — with an all-star cast of GRAMMY participants shapes up to be one for the books.”

“The Night That Changed America – A GRAMMY® Salute To The Beatles” will be broadcast on the CBS Television Network on Sunday, February 9, from 8-10 pm – exactly 50 years to the day, date, and time of the original event.

The 2-DVD set “The 4 Complete Ed Sullivan Shows Starring The Beatles” was released in 2010.
