“20 Feet From Stardom” won the Critics Choice Movie Award for Best Documentary Feature yesterday, having been nominated for an Academy Award in the same category earlier in the day.

The movie saw off competition from “The Act of Killing,” “Blackfish,” “Stories We Tell,” and “Tim’s Vermeer” to pick up the Critics Choice Award at a ceremony broadcast live from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, CA.

Bruce Springsteen guested on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night to celebrate the release of his new album “High Hopes”.

Springsteen and the E Street Band, including guitarist Tom Morello, performed three songs from the album, including the title track, “Heaven’s Wall,” and “Just Like Fire Would”. Springsteen also found time to once again duet with Jimmy Fallon, this time with a parody of “Born to Run” which poked fun at Governor Chris Christie over the so-called “Bridgegate” scandal.

Elvis Presley would have celebrated his 79th Birthday today and there are the usual events in Memphis to mark the occasion, including a Proclamation Ceremony at Graceland.
