Who are the UK’s top music earners?

Sir Paul McCartney remains the wealthiest UK rocker, according to the Sunday Times 2011 Rich List. McCartney’s estimated £495 million fortune puts him at fourth on the list of UK music millionaires, behind musical theatre impresarios Lord Lloyd Webber (£680 million) and Sir Cameron Mackintosh (£675 million), and Zomba Records co-founder Clive Alder (£1.3 billion).

Mick Jagger recording new album?

Mick Jagger is working on a new album with Dave Stewart, according to Mick’s brother Chris.

Chris Jagger told Portuguese website RTP that Mick is “doing a record at the moment in Los Angeles with Dave Stewart. He called me last night telling me what he was doing.”

Jagger and Scorsese to collaborate on “The History of Music”

Mick Jagger and Martin Scorsese are to collaborate on a television series for HBO called “The History of Music” which will follow friends over decades to show the evolution of the music industry. The show, which has been in development for three years, was Jagger’s idea and it is expected that he will be an executive producer, with Scorsese directing.
