Roger Daltrey interview

Roger Daltrey has said that Pete Townshend is currently working on a follow-up to the Who’s 2006 album “Endless Wire.”

The 36-minute audio interview can be heard on The Who’s website, with Daltrey answering some of the hundreds of questions submitted by fans.

Daltrey also commented on plans for the Who’s 2011 tour:

“I would like to be on the road playing as many different kind of shows as we could. Maybe doing ‘Quadrophenia’ one night, do greatest hits the next night, this is what I would like to do. And ‘Tommy’, if I could still sing ‘Tommy’.

“That would be really good fun and don’t keep going out with the same show every night – the audience would have to take a chance on what show they actually got.”

The long-rumoured Keith Moon biopic may still be on as, having already rejected six or seven scripts, Daltrey is planning to sit down with a friend who is a writer and work on a script between now and Christmas.

Daltrey hinted that a side project might be on the way in the form of a blues album. He is in talks with a guitarist about the project, but didn’t name who it is in case the project doesn’t come off.

Next month will see the release of a 40th anniversary deluxe edition of the Who’s classic album “Live At Leeds.” This will be added to our New Releases page as soon as it’s available for pre-order.
