McCartney reteams with Nirvana members on Saturday Night Live

Paul McCartney teamed up with Nirvana’s Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear on Saturday Night Live at the weekend, just days after their collaboration at “12.12.12 – The Concert for Sandy Relief”.

As on the Sandy show, they performed the new track “Cut Me Some Slack,” which will appear on the soundtrack of Grohl’s forthcoming documentary “Sound City”.

Prior to the “Cut Me Some Slack” performance, McCartney had performed “My Valentine,” with a little help from the Eagles’ Joe Walsh.

He also featured in a comedy skit with host Martin Short, as musical duo Caleb and Monty, which segued into a version of his 1979 hit “Wonderful Christmastime,” backed by the New York City Children’s Choir.

The studio version of “Cut Me Some Slack” has been previewed on YouTube.

The soundtrack to “Sound City” will be released in March, but the “Cut Me Some Slack” track is available now from both Amazon and iTunes.
