Glastonbury Festival 2011

The Glastonbury Festival gets underway tomorrow at Worthy Farm in Somerset and festival goers have already arrived in their droves to find that a week of rain has turned the 900-acre site into a mud bath.

A total of 177,000 revellers are expected to attend the festival, which runs until Sunday night.

Glastonbury 2011

The headliners on the Pyramid Stage are U2 on Friday night, Coldplay on Saturday and BeyoncĂ© on Sunday. With B.B. King also on the bill on Friday night, fans will very likely be treated to a duet with U2 on their hit “When Love Comes To Town.”

Veteran artists Paul Simon and Don McLean both appear on the Pyramid Stage on Sunday. Simon is in the middle of a UK tour to promote his latest album “So Beautiful Or So What?

The BBC will be recording approximately 60 performances from across the Pyramid, Other, John Peel and West Holts stages at Glastonbury 2011. There will be Glastonbury programming throughout the weekend on BBC Two, BBC Three and BBC Four, the Red Button, online and 6 Music.
