Watch the Janis Joplin Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony
Written by admin on November 5, 2013 – 1:11 pm -Janis Joplin has become the 2,510th recipient of a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The ceremony took place yesterday (Nov 4) morning, with hundreds of fans in attendance.
The event was hosted by Leron Gubler, President & CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, who referred to Janis as “one of the music world’s most iconic figures”.
There were also talks from record executive Clive Davis, Mitch O’Farrell of Los Angeles City Council, and Janis’ siblings, Michael and Laura Joplin. Kris Kristofferson performed his song “Me and Bobby McGee,” which Janis memorably covered and achieved a posthumous number one with in 1971.
