The Hollies have celebrated their 50th anniversary with a great value 3-CD collection titled “The Hollies – 50 at Fifty”. The set contains 50 tracks, including classic hits, standout album tracks, live recordings, and a brand new song for 2014 titled “Skylarks”.

“The Hollies – 50 at Fifty” is a belated release, as the 50th anniversary was last year, but “50 at Fifty-One” wouldn’t have been a very snappy title.

The Hollies charted more than 30 times on the UK singles chart and 21 times on the Billboard Hot 100, making them one of the most successful British groups of all time in the US. A spin of the CDs tells you why, with the crisp, powerful three-part harmonies supported by inventive and distinctive instrumentation. The biggest hits are all here, including such classics as “Just One Look,” “Bus Stop,” “I’m Alive, “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother” and “The Air That I Breathe”.

The anthemic new track, “Skylarks,” features long time members Tony Hicks and Bobby Elliot with the band’s current line up of Peter Howarth, Steve Lauri, Ray Stiles, and Ian Parker.
