Ravi Shankar dies aged 92
Written by admin on December 12, 2012 – 8:08 am -Ravi Shankar, the legendary sitar player who helped introduce Indian music to the West, died last night at a hospital near his home in San Diego, California. He was 92.
Shankar underwent heart-valve replacement surgery last week, but according to a statement from his wife and daughter, “Unfortunately, despite the best efforts ofthe surgeons and doctors taking care of him, his body was not able to withstand the strain of the surgery.”

55th Annual GRAMMY Awards – Nominations round-up
Written by admin on December 6, 2012 – 10:31 pm -Nominations for the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards were announced last night on a CBS television special that aired live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Leading the nominations, with six each, were The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach, Fun., Jay-Z, Mumford & Sons, Frank Ocean, and Kanye West. The Black Keys, Chick Corea and Miguel each received five nominations.
