Marvin Gaye’s superb recording of “I Heard It Through The Grapevine” is Song of the Week on Classic Pop Icons.

“I Heard It Through The Grapevine” was released on single on October 30, 1968, backed with “You’re What’s Happening (in the World Today).” It had already appeared on Gaye’s ninth solo album “In the Groove.”

The T.A.M.I. Show Collector's Edition DVD Finally, the excellent “T.A.M.I. Show” is out on DVD in the UK. The DVD was released in March 2010 in the US and was one of the best music DVD releases of the year.

Bobby Hebb dies aged 72

Bobby Hebb has died aged 72 from lung cancer. He passed away yesterday (August 3) at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.

Hebb was a singer-songwriter best known for his composition of the classic song “Sunny,” which he took to number two on the US pop charts in 1966.
