|Happy Birthday to folk legend Joan Baez who is 70 today.
Joan was born in Staten Island, New York on January 9, 1941 and began her music career as a teenager performing in the coffee houses in the Boston-Cambridge area of Massachusetts.

|The Beatles, Fats Domino, Otis Redding and Joan Baez are among the artists whose recordings will be entered into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2011.
The Grammy Hall of Fame Award was established by The Recording Academy’s National Trustees in 1973. The aim was to “honor recordings of lasting qualitative or historical significance that are at least 25 years old.” To date, 881 recordings have been inducted.
