An eclectic mix of veteran and new artists will feature on an all-star tribute album to mark what would have been Buddy Holly’s 75th birthday.

Rave On Buddy Holly” will include contributions from Paul McCartney, Kid Rock, Lou Reed, Graham Nash, Cee Lo Green, Patti Smith, Florence and the Machine, and more.

OBEs for Nash and Cale

Two veteran musicians appeared in the Queen’s annual birthday honours list.

OBEs (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) went to co-founder of the Velvet Underground, John Cale, and to Graham Nash, who was a member of both the Hollies and Crosby, Stills and Nash.

John Cale gets OBE Cale co-founded the Velvet Underground with Lou Reed in 1965 and appeared on their first two albums, “Velvet Underground and Nico” and “White Light/White Heat.”
