The 2011 Grammy Hall of Fame inductees
Written by admin on December 10, 2010 – 10:13 am -| The Beatles, Fats Domino, Otis Redding and Joan Baez are among the artists whose recordings will be entered into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2011.
The Grammy Hall of Fame Award was established by The Recording Academy’s National Trustees in 1973. The aim was to “honor recordings of lasting qualitative or historical significance that are at least 25 years old.” To date, 881 recordings have been inducted. |

Fats Domino and Dave Bartholomew to be honoured

“Walking to New Orleans: the Music of Fats Domino and Dave Bartholomew” is a co-production of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, and Case Western Reserve University. Cleveland. It will take place between November 8 and November 13. |

Happy Birthday Fats Domino
Written by admin on February 26, 2010 – 1:43 pm -Rock ‘N’ Roll pioneer Fats Domino is 82 today. Fats was born on February 1928 in New Orleans.
| Fats Domino last hit the headlines in a big way when his home was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in August, 2005. There were serious concerns for Fat’s health for a time, but thankfully he was rescued by a Coast Guard helicopter. Fats moved to Harvey, Louisiana, while his house was being gutted and repaired. |

Fats is 81 today

This year also marks 60 years as a star for Fats. His first record to make a national impression was The Fat Man in 1949. Many classics followed, including Ain’t that Shame, Blueberry Hill, I’m Walkin’ and Walking to New Orleans.
