Paul Simon paid tribute to the late Phil Everly at an intimate fundraiser in Nashville on Wednesday night (Oct 29).
The event, organised by Everly’s widow, Patti, took place at the Belle Meade house of Nashville socialite, Sylvia Roberts. Among those in attendance were songwriters Bob DiPierso and Brett James, and cast members of the ABC show “Nashville” (the house is used as the home of the character Rayna Jaymes on the show).

Phil Everly has sadly died at a hospital in Burbank, California, aged 74. His wife, Patti, told the LA Times that he died from complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

|Martha and the Vandellas’ classic 1964 hit “Dancing in the Street” is Song of the Week on Classic Pop Icons.
“Dancing in the Street” was released on single in July 1964, backed with “There He Is (At My Door).” The song also opened the group’s 1965 album, “Dance Party.”
