BBC Radio Two’s “Scotty Moore and the Guitar that Changed the World” features a fascinating interview with the legendary guitarist at the Sun Records recording studio at which Scotty recorded many classic recordings with Elvis Presley. The radio special celebrates the 60th anniversary of “That’s All Right,” the first professional recording of Elvis Presley’s career and one of the most important songs in the history of rock ‘n’ roll.

Roy Orbison’s biggest hit “Oh, Pretty Woman” is Song of the Week on Classic Pop Icons.

“Oh, Pretty Woman” was released in August 1964, backed with “Yo Te Amo Maria.” It wouldn’t appear on an album until the November 1965 release of “Orbisongs – Roy Orbison,” which came out in November 1965.

“Buddy Holly – Listen To Me” coming to PBS

A star-studded tribute to Buddy Holly will air on PBS in December.

“Buddy Holly: Listen To Me/The Ultimate Buddy Party” includes performances from a Buddy Holly 75th Birthday tribute concert that took place at the Music Box in Hollywood on September 7. Among the artists featured in the special are Stevie Nicks, Chris Isaak, Lyle Lovett, Raul Malo, Graham Nash, Paul Anka, Phil Everly, Patrick Stump and James Burton. There are also taped messages from big name fans of Holly, including Ringo Starr, Keith Richards, Brian Wilson, Jackson Browne and Eric Idle.
