			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-size: 1.8em; color: #1e6f65;">A</span> Hofner electric bass guitar signed by Paul McCartney will be among 300 lots auctioned during the <a href="http://www.fairfieldauction.com/links/2010march21.htm" target="_blank">March Estates Auction</a> by Fairfield Auction in Newtown, Conn. on March 21. </p>
<p><span id="more-1039"></span></p>
<p>The 1967 Hofner electric bass guitar is signed on the pick guard by McCartney.  It comes with a letter by Frank P. Garo, forensic handwriting examiner, testifying to the authenticity of the signature.</p>
<p>The condition of the instrument is described as &#8220;very good with some normal wear from use, a few replaced screws.&#8221;</p>

<p>The tape features 14 tracks recorded at Jimi&#8217;s home in New York in 1968, including a Bob Dylan cover and &#8220;softer&#8221; versions of numbers from the rock legend&#8217;s Electric Ladyland album. </p>

<p>The tape will be auctioned by pop memorabilia auctioneers Fame Bureau. Fame Bureau managing director, Ted Owen, said:</p>
<p>&#8216;I have listened to nearly every outtake of Jimi Hendrix and am very familiar with the personal reels. Thirty seven are known to exist, but now only one is out there in the public domain.&#8217;</p>
