Streisand’s “Partners” certified Platinum
Written by admin on January 21, 2015 – 12:58 pm -The Recording Industry Association of America has certified Barbra Streisand’s album “Partners” as Platinum, with over 1,000,000 sold. “Partners” is Streisand’s 31st Platinum album, which is the most achieved by any female recording artist. She also has 53 Gold and 14 multi-Platinum albums.
“Partners” entered the Billboard 200 at number one when released last September, which made Streisand the only recording artists to have a number one release in six consecutive decades. This was Streisand’s tenth album to hit the top spot, which is the most achieved by any female artist in Billboard’s history.
The 12-song album features duets with Andrea Bocelli, Michael Buble, Babyface, Jason Gould, Josh Groban, Billy Joel, John Legend, John Mayer, Lionel Richie, Blake Shelton, Stevie Wonder and Elvis Presley. It has been nominated for a 2015 Grammy in the category of “Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.”
Next month, Streisand will receive the American Society of Cinematographers 2015 Board of Governors Award in honour of her achievements in advancing the art and craft of filmmaking.
