Springsteen and Madonna up for Billboard Music Awards
Written by admin on April 24, 2013 – 6:14 pm -Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Roger Waters and Lionel Richie are among the nominees for this year’s Billboard Music Awards. The Billboard Icon Award will go to Prince who is expected to perform at the ceremony.
Springsteen will compete with Madonna, Roger Waters, Lady Gaga and Coldplay for the Top Touring Artist award. Bruce is also up for the Top Rock Artist award, with competition from Coldplay, Gotye, Mumford & Sons, and Fun.
Madonna’s 2012 album “MDNA” also earns her nominations in the Top Dance Artist and Top Dance Album categories.
Lionel Richie would not usually be associated with country music, but his duets album, “Tuskegee,” earns him a nomination in the Top Country Album category alongside Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood
The finalists for the Top Artist award are Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, One Direction, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift, each of whom receive multiple other nominations.
The Billboard Music Awards take place on May 19 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, and will be broadcast live on ABC from 8 pm ET.
