Pink Floyd’s recent 20th anniversary 7-disc reissue of “The Division Bell” will be followed-up in October with the release of a new album called “The Endless River”. The new album will be based on material worked on at the 1994 sessions that produced “The Division Bell”.

The news of the new album came via the Twitter account of Polly Samson, who is the partner of David Gilmour:

Richard Wright died in 2008 aged 65.

The recording did start during The Division Bell sessions (and yes, it was the side project originally titled ‘The Big Spliff’ that Nick Mason spoke about). Which is why there are Richard Wright tracks on it. But David and Nick have gone in and done a lot more since then.

It was originally to be a completely instrumental recording, but I came in last December and sang on a few tracks. David then expanded on my backing vocals and has done a lead on at least one of them.

The 7-disc 20th anniversary reissue of “The Division Bell” features:

• a remastered double LP edition of the album including all the full length tracks (originally edited to fit on a single LP)
• a red 7-inch of the “Take It Back” single
• a clear 7-inch of “High Hopes”
• a 12-inch blue vinyl of “High Hopes”
• the 2011 remaster of the album on CD
• a Blu-ray audio disc featuring the album in HD audio, as well as a previously unreleased surround sound audio mix and a new video for “Marooned”.
