Muscle Shoals documentary to debut at Sundance

Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Aretha Franklin and Bono are among the artists who feature in the new documentary “Muscle Shoals”.

“Muscle Shoals” tells the story of the competition between the FAME Recording Studios and Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in the 1960s and 1970s. The movie debuts at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah on January 26.

Scores of classic songs were recorded at FAME and Muscle Shoals by big name artists such as The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan, Bob Seger, Paul Simon, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, Joe Tex, Etta James, Tom Jones, and many more.

Other artists who appear in the film include Aretha Franklin, Gregg Allman, Stevie Winwood, and the late Etta James.

“Muscle Shoals” was written, directed and produced by Greg “Freddy” Camalier.
