Happy Birthday to Dion and Martha

Written by admin on July 18, 2010 – 7:00 am -

Two of the great group leaders of the golden era of popular music share a birthday today. Dion DiMucci hits 71 and Martha Reeves hits 69.

Lets enjoy two classic songs from each.

Dion’s biggest chart success actually came after his time with the Belmonts, with the smash hits “Runaround Sue” (#1) and “The Wanderer” (#2). The Del-Satins backed Dion on these tracks, but it is common for the Belmonts to be wrongly credited on both.
