Buffalo Springfield announce US tour

Buffalo Springfield on stage Buffalo Springfield are going on tour this summer for the first time in 43 years.

The folk rockers will play seven dates, concluding with their appearance at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, TN on June 11.


Buffalo Springfield were together for two years, from 1966 to 1968, during which time they released three albums. Their final concert appearance was at the Long Beach Arena on May 5, 1968.

The band first reunited last year for the Bridge School Benefit in Mountain View, CA. As with last year’s gig, the line-up for the forthcoming tour includes founding members Neil Young, Stephen Stills and Richie Furay. Rick Rosas and Joe Vitale take the place of the late Bruce Palmer and Dewey Martin, respectively.

The following Buffalo Springfield tour dates have been confirmed:

  • June 1 – Fox Theater, Oakland, CA
  • June 2 – Fox Theater, Oakland, CA
  • June 4 – Wiltern Theater, Los Angeles, CA
  • June 5 – Wiltern Theater, Los Angeles, CA
  • June 7 – Santa Barbara Bowl, Santa Barbara, CA
  • June 8 – Santa Barbara Bowl, Santa Barbara, CA
  • June 11 – Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival – Manchester, TN.


Gillian Welch will open the shows.

Neil Young will be joining the Buffalo Springfield tour fresh from his own solo Twisted Road tour, which commences on April 15 in Durham, NC, and concludes on May 7 in Chicago, IL.
