Bruce Springsteen joined Bob Seger on stage last night at Madison Square Garden, New York City, for a great duet on Seger’s signature hit “Old Time Rock and Roll.”

Seger invited Springsteen on stage early in the set for what he called a “Christmas treat” for the fans.

You have to go back more than 30 years for the previous duet between the pair. They performed “Thunder Road” together at the University of Michigan on the opening night of Springsteen’s River tour on October 3, 1980.

Springsteen has announced a new album and tour with the E Street Band for 2012, including appearances at the UK’s Hard Rock Calling and Isle of Wight festivals. The following European dates have been confirmed:
