Aretha Franklin to win Music Icon Award
Written by admin on March 7, 2012 – 6:36 pm -Legendary soul singer Aretha Franklin will receive the Music Icon Award at the 10th anniversary TV Land Awards next month.
The star-studded event will be taped at New York City’s Lexington Avenue Armory at Gramercy Park on April 14 and will air on April 29.
The event will be hosted by Kelly Ripa, who hosts the nationally syndicated talk show “LIVE! With Kelly”.
The TV Land Awards pay tribute to classic and contemporary stars of television, music and the movies. Past recipients of TV Land Awards have included Michael J. Fox, John Travolta, Bill Cosby, Mike Myers, Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, Garry Marshall, and dozens more.
Past musical performers on the show have included Liza Minnelli, Stevie Wonder, Blondie, Diana Ross, Willie Nelson and Lionel Richie. It’s unclear whether or not Aretha Franklin will perform at the 10th anniversary show.
