Aretha Franklin will be one of six new inductees into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame on August 14. The Queen of Soul will be joined by bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs, contemporary Christian singer-songwriter Dallas Holm, family Southern Gospel group The Hoppers, the late television evangelist Rex Humbard, and Christian rock band Love Song.

Franklin’s 1972 gospel album, “Amazing Grace,” has sold over two million copies, making it one of the best-selling gospel albums of all time. It was also critically acclaimed, winning the 1972 Grammy Award for Best Soul Gospel Performance. The double album was recorded live at the New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles during January 1972.
