Happy Birthday Fats Domino
Written by admin on February 26, 2010 – 1:43 pm -Rock ‘N’ Roll pioneer Fats Domino is 82 today. Fats was born on February 1928 in New Orleans.
| Fats Domino last hit the headlines in a big way when his home was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in August, 2005. There were serious concerns for Fat’s health for a time, but thankfully he was rescued by a Coast Guard helicopter. Fats moved to Harvey, Louisiana, while his house was being gutted and repaired. |

Ray Davies to duet with Springsteen
Written by admin on February 26, 2010 – 3:30 am -Kinks rocker, Ray Davies, has announced that Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi will be among the guests on a forthcoming album of duets.
Davies told NJ.com that the duets album will revisit Kinks classics and that the Springsteen and Bon Jovi collaborations were recorded last month. Springsteen will feature on “Better Things” and Bon Jovi on “Celluloid Heroes.”

Future uncertain for The Who

Gene Pitney birthday tribute
Written by admin on February 17, 2010 – 10:44 am -Gene Pitney would have been 70 years old today. He died on April 5, 2006 at the age of 66 in a hotel in Cardiff, Wales, midway through a UK tour.
Gene Francis Alan Pitney was born in Hartford, Connecticut on February 17, 1940, but spent most of his youth in Rockville, Connecticut. He had musical ambitions from a young age and formed a band while a student at Rockville High School. His first singles were released as part of a duo called Jamie and Jane, with singer Ginny Arnell, and included the song “Classical Rock and Roll.” The singles were not hits and the duo was soon abandoned.
